UPSC Full Form and History
The complete form of UPSC is the United Public Service Commission. The modern concept of investigation of public services in India was introduced in 1854 by the British East India Company. India’s public service survey was originally conducted only in London. However, this program is designed to be successful only for UK applicants. However, in 1864, the first Indian, Sri Satyendranath Tagore, succeeded Srila Rabindranath Tagore’s brother. It was after World War I and the Montague-Chelmsford reform that the investigation of Indian officials began in India.
India’s first public service commission was established on October 1, 1926. Sir Ross Barker, a member of the British public service, was the first chairman of the committee. With the adoption of the Indian Constitution on January 26, 1950, the Federal Public Service Commission was recognized by the United Public Service Commission (UPSC). Thus, UPSC was established as a central committee to conduct government investigations.
